The NBA is gradually releasing information about the 2023 season calendar; on August 15 at 3:00 PM ET on ESPN, NBA Today will release the schedule for the NBA In-Season Tournament!
The whole 2023–24 NBA schedule will be made public the following week. However, the specifics of the initial batch of games are already known. The Golden State Warriors will play the Phoenix Suns on October 24, while the Denver Nuggets will play the Los Angeles Lakers.
There will be some exciting games happening on 25 December – Christmas Day. On that day, fans can look forward to the following games:
- New York Knicks vs. Milwaukee Bucks
- Miami Heat vs. Philadelphia 76ers
- Los Angeles Lakers vs. Boston Celtics
- Phoenix Suns vs. Dallas Mavericks
- Denver Nuggets vs. Golden State Warriors
According to Marc Stein, Victor Wembanyama will make his NBA debut on October 25 during a game between the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Mavericks.
On October 26, LeBron James and Kevin Durant will play one another in a basketball game for the first time since 2018, according to a source. Los Angeles will host the game, and the visiting Phoenix club will be there as well. LeBron James suffered a groin injury in the third quarter of the last 2018 game, which took place on Christmas Day. According to the source, Joel Embiid and the Sixers will compete against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks on the same night.
Miami and Boston will play on October 27 in a game that is particularly significant because it is a replay of the previous two Eastern Conference finals. Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald was the one who first broke the news of this information.
The Clippers and Lakers will square off against one another for the first time this season on November 1st, according to The Athletic.
According to the same source, the Heat will take on Denver on February 29 in a game that will be an exact replica of the NBA Finals showdown from 2023.
For the opening night, before a contest between the top Western teams, the winners will get rings. The previous time Denver defeated the Lakers, LeBron and Davis complimented the Nuggets as their most challenging opponents in four years.
Meanwhile, since moving to Golden State, Chris Paul has faced the Suns. Due to past absences due to injury and the pandemic, Durant’s Suns-Warriors game is his first at Chase Center with spectators.
The Celtics and Lakers meet after 2008. LeBron has played on Christmas for 17 years, the Warriors for 11. LeBron established a Christmas record of 17 games last year. Denver will play Golden State, the Lakers will play Boston, and Miami will play Philadelphia.
As for the In-Season tournament, on November 3, a new seven-night basketball tournament will start. Nov. 3, 10, 14, 17, 21, 24, and 28 (excluding Nov. 7) are the first round dates on Tuesday and Friday. Top teams go to the knockout stage; quarterfinals are on December 4–5, semifinals are on December 7 in Las Vegas, and the championship game is on December 9.
